The airport in this scene is Rio's domestic airport 'Santos Dumont'.

At the time of the Coimbra's arrival, this was the only airport in Rio. Now it is used for domestic flights.
 
'Santos Dumont' is located in downtown Rio de Janeiro. International flights actually use 'Galeão Airport'.
