The 25th festival 'Primo Piano sull'Autore', which took place in Assisi, Italy from 20 - 25 November 2006, was dedicated to Terence Hill and Bud Spencer - and their careers. The event was an encounter between authors, critics and the public. Terence and Bud were the center of attention in the Umbrian town, which screened many of their movies in local movie theaters during the festival.
On Thursday, 23 November, Terence and Bud appeared at the University of Perugia to meet with and answer questions from journalists and the public. Younger and older fans, who came from various parts of Italy and other countries, filled the auditorium and waited impatiently for the actors. Many questions were asked: Will the actors make a new movie together? "We would like to, but we can not do what we did before", replied Terence. "We would have to find a new story, something in a different line than before, then.. why not?" (Click on the play button of the video below to watch Terence reply to this question - in Italian). Bud remarked that he and Terence must be the only 'couple' who never had an argument! The audience responded with smiles and applause. The evening ended with an award: Both actors received the prize '25th Rassegna del cinema italiano' and also a book about their careers, which was compiled and printed especially for them by the event's organisers.
Terence and Bud received another award on Saturday, 25th November, in Assisi's town hall: The prize 'Premio dell'autore', which Terence appreciated very much. This event was attended by - amongst others - Giulio Base (director of the TV series 'Don Matteo'), Marcello Fondato (director of 'Watch Out, We're Mad'), Giuseppe Pedersoli (producer and son of Bud Spencer), Tonino Valerii (director of 'My Name is Nobody') and Sandra Zingarelli, daughter of producer & director Italo Zingarelli ('I'm For The Hippopotamus'), who delivered laudation speeches. The evening ended with Terence and Bud receiving the honorary citizenship of Assisi.
