Carabiniere Cecchini finds himself in the middle of a family tragedy: His daughter is in danger of losing her eye sight due to an accident. She has to have an urgent eye operation. Instead of asking his friends for help, Cecchini goes to a financial shark to be able to cover the medical costs and becomes victim of a fraud.
